The inference was, because the team you're playing is crap ie EWF, you go down to their level. BS, if you're a red hot team like the Sharks are now, you don't drop your standards.

I don't think it was the ref who said that, it was the commentator, ex-Bok Joel Stransky (apologies if I've mis-spelt that)

Ever since Blake has moved away from his specialist defence coaching position the defence has lapsed badly. He needs to go back specialising, It shows that he doesn't have the ability to coach the team.
