    QC price Tag is $400k

Quade Cooper will be seeking more than the $400,000-a-season deal given to Will Genia, drastically reducing his chances of remaining in Queensland.

The Wallabies five-eighth has greater marketing appeal than Genia but opinion is divided on who is the more valuable player. The Reds have struggled without Quade Cooper this season, while Genia has played every game.

But the unchanged $4.1 million salary cap means the Reds are unlikely to meet Cooper's price tag; no team can afford to spend a quarter of their entire cap on just two of their 30-man squad.

Genia was offered $550,000 a year to join Western Force, but he declined believing he would not have the same success in Perth.

Is he worth $400k ?? I'd say YES, espically if we were offering $600k for Genia..

Plus if we get Cooper @ $400, we get Pocock (in my eyes)

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.

He offers much more to the than Genia does.

Having a playmaker with vision at 10 or 12 will give the outside backs the ball way more than they are getting now, so they can show what we all know they are capable of.

He's the sort of guy who can win games off his own back...I'd be happy with a few extra wins in the season...

Make sure Bambam has whatever he thinks is fair...then if we have the cash then spend up on QC...

Plus then get Goosen as our international development player (who can cover 9 / 10 / not sure if its 12 or 13) nice combination with Cooper @ 10.

I wouldn't normally say this, but with Cooper putting his price tag @ $400k its a bargain and we dont need to use our marque player plus have more money in the kitty to get a inside and / or outside centre.

QC creates opportunities. People will want to see him play. He would be good value on the field.

"Speculation over Quade Cooper leaving Australian rugby continues. Japan or the Brisbane Broncos is the latest whisper."

    interesting...

not a terrible idea, as long as he is fit. Though we need to remember that we need a defensive replacement for him to drop to full back.

Hodgo at 15 then - good under a high ball, will certainly run it rather than kick, and will come up to play 10 in defense rather well!

Plus, it means we have the ability to play Pocock, Brownie, McCalman and Hodgo together, with Cottrell the wrecking ball from the bench.

FFS, has everyone missed the bit about how the Force offer to Genia, the Reds offer to Genia and (presumably) any corresponding offer to Cooper were all contingent on the expanded salary cap? Without that, this would all seem to be a huge exercise in mental masturbation unless we (of all people) are suddenly allowed to procure third party deals.

everyone tries to take our hodgo out of the forwards... less pilfers? definately less runs with the ball. and will probably have to change his fitness type.

I really don't want QC here. If he comes it will only be for the money, not for anything else. I don't want to support a team with any mercenary Qld cast offs in it, even if it means giving up finals hopes. Having pride in my team and knowing that every player in it wants to be here, is more important to me than silverware. Old-fashioned and girly though that may be!

He wont go to the Broncos, they are the nursery for youngsters and GC ain't no youngster anymore, if its RL its Roosters with his bestest in SBW.

Take Goosen, he struggles to get a game with the Cheetahs and therefore isn't a good shot at the Bok....perfect development player in a position where the Aussie cupboard is bare!
