The time to develop was 6 years ago. We now have a pack that can compete with some of the best packs in super rugby. We dont have the time to develop players in the backs. Buy the best available talent now and push for a finals place in the next year or 2. Rebiuld the team after imo.

Buying champion players may not make a champion team but we do need a rudder at 10. There are a bunch of guys who are on peanuts in the EPS who have been great this season- Jesse Mogg, Sam Wara, Sam Lane wasn't even contracted. Peter Betham isn't either. What we need is excellent recruiters who can spot good value for money. There is no point spending much money on outside backs if they don't see the ball.

We can't buy just one good player, we need to buy a combination. If we go for Genia, match it with Harris, or possibly Lane. If we buy Goosen, we'd need a 9 with him. I know that makes it harder to look internationally, but Genia and Cooper work best together, like most 9-10 combinations

Absolutely. But as a back up. Start looking at Kyle Godwin as a playmaking 15 and get an experienced 10.

I think back and signing Giteau was a masterstroke at the time. It brings confidence to the organisation (franchise or club).
