Can some one please help me here ... Just watched the replay of last night game ...
The time on the screen read

37.20 when the Yellow card call was given
41.05 Half time whistle
46.15 Due back on
46.28 Penalty to force Break in play
46.35 line out to force Break in Play
48.26 Finally back well Brownie and Benny Mac back on

I make this a over 12 min yellow card
37.20 to 41.05 3.45 mins
40.00 to 48.26 8.26 mins

total 12.10 mins time off long 10 mins and I am being fair with some of the times

Am I cutting hairs or is it like most things the officals do they either cant see or dont remember

Sorry to say but the officals are just out to stop the game being national

The binned player can only return to the field after a stoppage.

The 10 minutes is playing time, not actual time. So if the ref calls time off then the sin bin timer stops. NOte the timer on the telly is not necessarily the official time.

Then the returning player must only return during a stoppage. A stoppage is only when the ball is dead, like when it's in touch or when a scrum is called or when there has been a score. A kick at goal is not a stoppage; the ball is still live.
