So after all the NZRU whinging in 2003 about how much its going to cost us to "cohost" the world cup its come to help a little bit with the new profit...
Isn't it funny "an investment" comes to help instead of being an hindrance.
yeah that's right Benny, they did moan and the fish heads at the time running the NZRU made a monumental blunder , yeah all that is true
but don't forget when the ARU were technically "bankrupt" in 1972 - guess who helped them out, even to the extent of providing their kit on the tour to NZ and paid for lock stock and barrel... the same NZRU
Funny old world isn't it, the rugby community.
It must be frustrating for the NZRU, that despite having the best known 'brand' in rugby, with the greatest pulling power, they can't capitalise on it due to their small domestic market. personally, I agree with their position of a couple of years ago that their should be some profit sharing on tours.
Not bad, posting a profit for the same year the government had to pony up for the RXC shortfall....
