    Hello from Kenya!

    Warm greetings from Kenya!

I joined the site way back in 2008 but was inactive.
I generally like sports and from Super 15 I like The Western Force.
I hope to be actively involved in your site now.

Another query is the tipping comp open to all members or only for Australian residents?

    Thanks

I think it's open to all members mate. Are you playing rugby over in Nairobbery?

Welcome aboard nawoo, good to hear from our far-flung friends!

I am sure KenyaQuin will revel in having a fellow compatriot around to celebrate your growing Sevens achievements with.

    G'day Nawoo and welcome!

Anyone is welcome to play in tipping competitions - however, prizes are generally only awarded to those that are active members here on TWF. Keep coming back and joining in and that'll include yourself

Karibu Nawoo..though I suspect you are a Wallaby supporter if you're going for the Western Force from out there.

Only if Nawoo's allegiance is to the defending Kenya Cup champs, the mighty Kenya Harlequin. It's club first, country second in my books.

As for the weekend results..yes, happy we thrashed Australia, not once by twice, however a little disappointed we lost to CANADA - WTF! - in the pool stages. Hopefully a more consistent performance this weekend.

I went there once. My dad lived there. (before I went there...) He went to the Prince of Wales School. Played for West Nile RFC back in the day...

Ecky..for your interest, Prince of Wales School became the Nairobi School (a public secondary school of national status) and is fondly referred to as "Patch" for not very complimentary reasons and was - and probably still is - a vital breeding ground for rugby talent in Kenya.

Fortunately for Kenya though, rugby has grown beyond the old school establishment with several other schools of lesser repute rugby-wise now challenging for top honours.

Though I never had the honour of being a student there, I am at heart a "Patcherian".

    Alright,

    Asante sana

I knew it had changed its name.

It must have been an awesome school for both rugby and hockey (heaps of Indian-descent folk) back then, if my dad's war stories are as accurate as he'd have us believe.

Thank you guys for such a warm welcome to the TWF Community.

Zed, I have never taken part in any sports due to health problems but have always enjoyed being an armchair fan and I am not based in Nairobi but in the sunny coastal town of Mombasa.

GIGS20, Don'y worry about the postage rates as I am sure I will be involved in the fight to avoid the wooden spoon but the fact that there is a prize gives you the morale that you can also win

beige, Don't worry it's only sports and the highs, lows and the unexpected results makes sports entertaining.

KenyaQuin, Asante. Nimefurahi sana to know that I will have Kenyan company here on the forums. Well, I so support Wallabies but in the longer version but I root for the Kenyan side in the Sevens. As for club, I back the local side, Mombasa Sports Club and thanks for updating Ecky on the historical facts.

Ecky, I am a Kenyan of Indian descent.

zimeric, mzuri sana na asante kwa kunikaribisha.

    Thank you all!!!
