It was also criminal that a back, with space, was easily tackled by a prop.

Shepherd would be a chance for a Wallabies return if he could put together a season without too many injuries. I'd love to see him back at 15 or 12. I think he was being considered for the 2010 Spring Tour until injury struck again. Unfortunately you can't take an injury crock to the RWC.

Yep, that was DUMB rugby - Digby itching to receive his pass and McCabe chooses to go down a dead end alley. Creativity/vision = zero.

    Yeah like all of them

But to be fair, we have a lot of impressive outside backs and most of those guys who were injured but brought along were done so because they play in positions where we don't have much depth i.e. TPN, Barnes, Slipper, Horne.

Numb Nuts Cooper - I would be happy to see him sign with the Warriors in NZ, out of the Wallabies, out of our game & out of our country.

    McCabe is a belter
I would have preferred Gits at 12

I've always wondered why neither of the EWF coaches have tried him at either 10 or 12 during our many injury crises - well at the times he was fit anyway. How many times has he shown his fantastic long passing game?

Who knows, maybe (the obviously star crossed) Shep might have been just the one to lift the curse on the 10 shirt. Not that I'm superstitious or anything.

    100% Yes

I wonder if defences world wide might eventually fall for his trick of running straight at them?

Yes. I think what sums up McBain beautifully as a player, was in the SF when he had 3 men outside him, he looked stepped back intro traffic and was then penalised. A 12 is a playmaker and at international level, should have the skills and the nous to slot in at 10 e.g Gits, Tim Horan, Mike Catt all were centres who could play at 10. Can you imagine McBain at 10 And I think that's whu England struggled, they had Tindall at 12, who is just another McBain. Both are good solid defenders, hard straight runners, but that kind of player severely limits your attacking ability.

What's with the Mark McBain fixation? Hasn't played since Mark Ella's days - though I suppose he was a hooker and they never pass the ball either. Had his career curtailed by a filthy Frenchman's boot so he'll probably be cheering the Darkness on Sunday.

Cooper is a 50-80 minute bench player.
He is too great a liability for the early stages of the match (when people actually need to tackle man on man) when the tone of the match is established.
Feeble one arm slaps to the chest do not count as a solid tackle.
One too many brain farts for me, he can go if he wants, no worries.
