    The Mr Lindegaard Cup

Mr Lindegaard was a great man who taught at both Hale and Trinity, his passion was rugby, the game played in heaven. Sadly last year Mr Lindegaard passed away. He was a great teacher as well as a superb rugby coach. Tomorrow when the Hale 1st XV take on the Trinity 1st XV they will be playing for the Mr Lindegaard Cup.

Get down to Hale grounds to watch what will be a historic and meaningful match. Kick off around 10:45

    R.I.P Mr Lindegaard

shaunmarn, you let down the club by having a loss yesterday. Hale could have had a clean sweep. haha. It was a good day though, well deserved win to Hale, bit different to my day, have never seen Trinity lose by that much ever.

Yes, the nines went down to Trinity; but it was a close one. They had a very big front row with boys weighing around 95 kilograms! A few crucial erros cost us... Anyways the Cup belongs to Hale!

    Thanks for the TLH.

cheers to a great new cup to play for and all respect to Mr Lindegaard and his family.

Does anyone know of other cups PSA teams play for besides the one for the overall winner?

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.

Shaun, there are a few floating around, an explanation of a couple below as stolen from a Scotch Rugby Newsletter from last year.
When it comes down to it though, there is only one, the Brother Redmond Cup!

The annual Syme Cup matches between all five rugby teams from Wesley and Scotch Colleges takes place at various venues (2005 at Palmyra, 2006 Nedlands). The kicks off times are: 1st XV: 5.15 pm 2nd XV: 4.00 pm Yr10’s: 4.00 pm Yr 9’s: 2.15 pm Yr 8’s: 2.15 pm
It is traditional for all Scotch Rugby players and their families to stay on after their games have finished in order to support the 1st XV in this prestigious fixture.
Not once in the eleven years that these matches have been contested has Wesley ever won the trophy outright, although they did manage a hard fought draw in 2003.
The Cup was donated by Wesley College as a parting gift when their then Deputy Headmaster (Reverend Andrew Syme) left to become the Headmaster at Scotch.
From '05 there was also a trophy offered for the winner of the Year 8 match. The Sinden Cup will comprise a large silver bowl full to the brim with chocolates and lollies. Unlike the Syme Cup, which is normally presented by Reverend Syme to the captain of the winning 1st XV, it is the coach of the losing team who will be required to present the Sinden Cup. Considering that the two coaches in '05 were married to each other this match was certain to be fiercely contested and led to a rather tense lead up week.
In the inaugural match the losing coach had the rare distinction of presenting a trophy to her son who happened to be the Scotch Captain!
