(As a development player...) You'll do me! Welcome aboard Will
He might make a good restart/cross field kick option too. A bit like Matt Banahan who coincidentally would have come into contact with Richard Graham when Graham was at Bath.

But the most important thing- is he fast?

Sounds good and welcome to him.

Hearing the leak though, I was thinking it might be Chambers.. http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/spo...rs-cut-by-reds

Its a sad day for the ARU when we have the dosh but cant find?? lure?? identify??? and union talent in Australia... how many league guys actually go on to make a difference in union.... not to many. I wish the lad well but something is amiss if we cannot grab world class talent or develop our own...

From the article Andy posted a link to:

The decision does alleviate some salary cap pressure for the Reds
Better get used to hearing that

The NRL's almost becoming a required detour for players moving up the ladder - Rocky Elsom, Berrick Barnes, Wycliff Palu, Jarrod Saffy, Will Tupou...

Possibly, Saffy says quite openly that he decided to spend some time in RL "to develop more quickly". I realise it's only his opinion, but seeing as he was a product of Joeys, a U-21 and sevens Australian rep, there sure seems a question to ponder.

Probably a bit unfair to lump Will in with the League path players.
He started League at 18 and is back at Union at 21 having played it all of his youth days.
I would see that as a brilliant thing for Union being able to return a prodigal son to the code!

Don't know what you're referring to there Burgs. As far as I can see all the players Beige mentioned have a junior Rugby background . But probably played RL as well like most of the Wallaby squad - realise Will maybe didn't. I sound like a cracked record with this - but that is very common in NSW and Queensland as it is to enjoy both fairly equally, as a player and spectator. I don't see any need at all differentiate anyway. There are, of course others who have played and/or watch only one of the two.

But for those who feel they must differentiate - go for it. It gives us dual coders a bit of a chuckle and an opportunity to throw some bait.

Wasn't really a direct answer to Beiges post, there were others over the page.
The comment was more aimed at the portrayal of League signings being a waste of money than anything else, which always harps back to Tuqiri/Rogers/Sailor et al.
I was saying to those who may "write him off" as a "League player" that Will isn't really falling into that criteria.

It is also common in many parts of NSW and Qld to passionately love one and hate the other, so I don't really see that as being grounds for holier than thou
I enjoy League for what it is, a bunch of deviants playing British Bulldog for "adults"

Ouch! A large part of the Wallaby squad are reformed deviants!

Well that's it - no more RL for me.

He was recuited from Rugby as have several other recent recruits .i.e. Vuna, Saffy, Chambers (and if the Brumbies get their man Tomoane). Ao they are all just returning to the natural balance of their footballing careers in my opinion.
