Appreciate all the input!!! Have been doing the clip-board and pencil approach for 30 years - just trying to keep up with the technology you see. We have to produce a digital or 'e' end product - so we are trying to avoid a 2 step process- paper to computer at a later time!!

I was very keen to get my hands on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 until an Apple lawsuit shot down the release of it in Australia

It must be good for Apple to deploy their lawyers!

See if you can;t find a "Notion Ink Adam" to have a look at - android based like many, but it should be good for outside use in full sun due to it's transflective screen. Anything other than a transflective screen will do your eyes in when outdoors.

Check out what applications you need before buying to make sure they are supported on what device you end up with. Also look into capacitive vs resistive screens if you hope to use a stylus for hand written notes.

Only one version. They will be releasing a technically different version in Australia. Apparently. I see they are going after the Motorola Xoom too.

Had a look at the HP Touch Pad in UK last week - it is lit like a lap top screen or I Pad screen - no go in bright sunlight! Thanks for all the input though. I also subscribe to a Forum/website called "Technology in Physical Education" (they are on Facebook) - we are all after the same idea! Assessment technology - on the pitch/side. Not sure how teams with the big budgets manage this when they are doing training and match assessment? I do know a lot happens off the pitch, when the team of analysts go through the video.........

ONE of the world's biggest computer makers quietly killed its first tablet overnight after just four days on sale in Australia.
In a new record for the industry, the HP TouchPad went on sale in Harvey Norman stores on Monday only to be abandoned by international press release.

In a statement, HP announced it would "discontinue operations for WebOS devices, specifically the TouchPad and WebOS phones".

While HP did not release any of its phones in Australia, after buying WebOS software from Palm, the TouchPad's premature death with come as a shock to Australian buyers who paid between $499 and $599 for the device.

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.
