My predictions:
Quarters:
1)NZ vs Argentina (Winner = NZ)
2)England vs France (Winner = England)
3)Australia vs Samoa (Winner = Australia)
4)South Africa vs Italy (Winner = South Africa)
Semis:
1)NZ vs SA (Winner = SA)
2)Eng vs Aus (Winner = Eng)
Final = Eng vs SA.
*NZ should make the final and should win it, but they should have won in 2007, 2003, 1999, 1995 and 1991, hence the reason I haven't picked them in the final!
Ireland will finish ahead of Italy in that pool IMHO.

Ireland are complete shit Italy will get past them.
I'm not entirely convinced of Argentina this time around - Scotland may pip that one.

Aust v Ireland would be nice!!
Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.
Rugby World Cup history dictates that France will play one awesome match followed by one very, very average one (1987- beat Australia then creamed by NZ, 1999- beat NZ then creamed by Aus, 2003- blitzed Ireland then walked by England, 2007- beat NZ then imploded against England).
I think France will knock England out in the quarter finals. We will go on to beat France in the semis, having beaten whichever of Wales or the Pacific Island nations makes it through, and lose to New Zealand in the final. South Africa won't beat New Zealand. No chance.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

The Irish should run the Italians off the park, but if they sniff the chance of a quarter-final, I wouldn't put it past the Italian pack to beat the Irish. Once they get themselves motivated they can be a difficult group to stop.
However, I think Burgs has the groups about right, but I wonder whether Georgia and Namibia might do better, and I can see Wales being tripped up in Group D.
Fiji pipped Wales last RWC
anyone who spells shit shite has to hang out with a lot of Irish or be Orish and probably remembers Ireland being humiliated by the Georgian pack in Bordeaux. The Oirsh Nemesis is Argentina who they won't meet but I actually would put cash on Argentina beating New Zealand purely because the kiwi's won't turn up for that game and the ability of Argentina to put on a show when they want to - remember the opening game against France last RWC
61 years between Grand SlamsWas the wait worth it - Ya betta baby
Italy's chances depend solely on the ref......if Castrogiovanni gets away with the bullshit he served up against the Aussies they'll easily make the quarters, if he gets noticed for it, his yellow card count will crucify them. They won't play a pretty game, they'll keep it tight and play to their strengths, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them above Ireland.
Pool D will also be a bit of a crap shoot between Fiji and wales, no good reason why Fiji should do better than wales apart from wales being........inconsistent and Fiji having the ability to bring a big hitting defense to unsettle their opponents.......stranger things have happened in world cups.
After all that my predictions are
QF
Australia v Wales
England v France
South Africa v Italy
New Zealand v Argentina
SF
Australia v England
Argentina v South Africa
Final
Australia v South Africa
Yep, I reckon the choke will come in the quarters.........it fits the stereotype better, they'll cruise through the pools, take it easy and get upset by a Pumas outfit which are half as good as they are, but play with commitment and teamwork.
Australia to be too quick for an aging Bulls side, putting them to bed by 60

If the NZ selectors pick on form rather than past services rendered there are a couple of scenarios. There will be an implosion where players who have been sweeping all before them have an off day and get towelled well and truly. Or they will hold form and blast all comers off the park in epic style.
If they stick with the tried and tested there are a couple of teams who could have their measure on any given day. Just depends whether one of those days happens at the right time, as usual.
My tip (hope) is that they go with the tried and tested and the Wallabys have that given day.
