Well the obvious thing to do would be not do it in the spotlight - all that is doing is giving people the perception that he's only after money, especially with the reds chiming in now.

If he had've done it behind the scenes like Sharpe/Pocock/Brown/McCalman/Hodgson etc did then you can say they did want to stay at the force even if their managers did make contact to other clubs.

The way O'Connor and his management are handling it though make it seem like he doesn't want to stay here, and he's just after the chaching.

Thats all the bloody Gen Yers, particularly the backs, and it doesn't bloody well endear them to the fans. Even if O'Connor was to stay he has lost a lot of respect amongst the Force fans.

Because rugby WA and the Force have been SO BAD at promoting rugby in this fringe state, sponsors are unwilling to put big coin on someone "the locals" have never heard of. JOC is a household name on the east coast and walks the streets of Perth unrecognised. That's why they aren't lining up with the cheque book open. That's why JOC was shattered with his 3rd party deal.
