Alfi having a run for Baysie

A vastly improved Perth-Bayswater first grade showed they could mix it with the big boys with a memorable, last-minute 19-17 win over Kalamunda at Hartfield on Saturday.

Perth-Bayswater enjoyed the services of Western Force player Alfi Mafi at fullback and although he was a handful for the opposition on a couple of occasions, he was just one of the team.

He played well. Especially in the first half. He was also influential late in the second half (when moved from fullback to centres) when he was able to draw multiple defenders and then set his outside runners off into a gap.

Can anyone solve the mystery of why he was on the team sheet for the Rebels but didn't play and this week is back in clubland?

I had assumed it was injury related. He always wears those pink thingies to protect his hamstrings. There might have been a bit of tightness.

Was he one of the backs who got a crook belly in SA?
