Worried about all the support for the Rebels

Not sure if I am the only but I am a bit concerned about all the support of the media in Australia the Rebels are gaining, and the excitement of them knocking down the other Australian teams.

While its great to have a Melbourne team doing well, in a world cup year they are getting behind a team that is being built on the stregnth of overseas players and not doing much for the other Australians they are opposing.

The Rebels have been fantastic so far but their charge is being led by Cipriani (Eng), Delve (Wales), Lipman (Eng), Somerville (NZ), and they maybe taking some gloss or confidence off our potential or existing wallabies.

    Not always fantastic (thankfully) Waratahs 43 - Rebels 0, Reds 53 - Rebels 3.
Their supporters seem to have forgotten those results.
I suspect there'll be further floggings to be had later in the season too.

How long did Cipriani sign for? Hope they have more luck finding a replacement 10 when he's gone back home.

The eastern states media's been all over their d*ck since the original Super 14 bid - I wouldn't stress too much about it... except at game time of course

Trying hard to keep the faith.

It always seems that we are the omly team that make mistakes and lose, the other teams surely do the same they cannot play perfect games every time, where is lady Luck she owes some time in her light

Victorians are already crowing about how many wins they have had their first season compared to the Force as if it was proof that Victoria shouldve won the original Super 14 bid.
How long before the policy of allowing 10 foreigners to suit up is binned?
Without Delve, Lipman, Cipriani, Robinson, Yoda etc what do they have?
    F#%* I HATE VICTORIANS!!!

Shared a few beers (ok, from down the bar) with the majority of the Rebels at the OBH last night.
Was great to see their Coach relaxed and enjoying a beer (or 10!) with his boys.

It's a waste of effort hating Victorians. Let everyone else do it for you. Besides, Victorians crowing about proof they should've got the Super14 bid in 2006 is meaningless. They didn't get it. If they've been dwelling on it for 5 years sucks for them.

So how long does the 10 allowable foreigners rule apply for the Rebels and does the ARU pay some of those salaries as well?

I don't think the ARU has any input other than the grants that they give all of the clubs. I think each year the number is wound back by 2. I think the ARU really needs to offer each of the other franchises an extra marquee (or development player) to lessen the strain that will invariably befall in a post world cup year.

Well there's healthy hatred and unhealthy hatred - healthy hatred means we get a good rivalry going after we beat them in the return fixture
