O'Connor brings the size we need at No 8. And why we haven't thought of playing the Fairbrother brothers before now I will never know....

Fairbanks has the attacking penetration of a retarded sloth. Why did we waste sponsorship dollars on a he never was washed up hack?

our midfield defence is a major weakness. The 12/13 channel has been very rewarding for hard running opponents. We are 2 centres short of a decent backline. the halves and back 3 are quite exciting

Brown has had one good game in 2 years. Stop kidding yourselves

Wykes is worse than useless in every facet of the game apart from an occasional exceptional pick and go. Once the opposition works his trick out, he'll be worse than useless.

They are a decent playing group coached by 3 spoonies. The coaches are rubbish. Time for them to leave on the special bus and hire some people that understand the game

I agree BeeJay, O'Connor is wasted in the backs. The Fairbrother twins seem to lift when they are both playing.

Ahhhh. Equilibrium is restored. The real Rex has returned. Maybe Burgs inferring he is a dumb Mungo has yanked his chain..........or maybe it just takes a big loss.

ome on that XV is brilliant!

First of all, size > technique. O'Connors tenacity at the ruck would be brilliant if the force could get fast ball going. If you put him at 9 he'd be a waste, but at 8 he could still roam.

I just thought he'd be perfect for no8 when I saw him on the weekend. Sharpe got tackled with 2 storks on him and then O'Connor came in to try and get him moving forward again and then attempted to counter ruck!

He IS wasted in the backline!

    edit> 2 Fairbrothers was a typo.

way to bag/praise Sheehan there Rex

As for the defense, well one game was shit, yes, but on balance, the defense is a helluva lot better than it was under your supercoach. The only issue I can see is the attack, and we are yet to see the first choice 10 on the field.....I may not know as much about the game as you, but I think that might have a slight effect.

we need more speed of delivery from halfback, sheehan spends too long looking for options, (having an inside centre who doesn't chop out with rabbit ain't helping either) which is allowing the opposition to re-allign the defence forcing us to use the forward bash instead of the pacy backs. whats the old saying 'the ball moves faster than the man' we brought in a winger in smith who can beat any defence going but we never seem to pass the ball 9, 10, 12, 13, to wing, its frustrating to watch sometimes how slow our backs move the ball. pity justin turners injured, he gets the ball singing from breakdown.
