Nice to see Luke Holmes getting a run, while he did not quite make it here he was a nice person, glad to see him getting a run.

Just looking, Luke was the 33rd (and last '06) cap for the Force.
Can't find a comparative table for the Rebels, but he might come in a bit sooner than that this time. Wish him well as Tazz says.

Interesting to compare the seasons, though makes things a bit harder with the different formats without having the actual records at hand...maybe a job for tonight...

    Unloved List: * "Rested"

    Nic Henderson*
    Heath Tessmann *
    Adam Freier
    Peter Betham
    Rodney Blake
    Tom Chamberlain
    Luke Jones

Ill bet the rebels are happy to see lipman back. whoever wore his jersey last week was dreadful.

Julian huxley the last couple weeks reminds me of his time at the reds when everyone in QLD hated him.

Rebels played inspired rugby toinight. Reminded me of the brumbies during their heyday... Great work by Mortlock, Phipps, Saffy, Vuna and Campbell... Fantastic open running teamwork based rugby

Dont think it'll be too much of an ask. Hurricanes were at 6s and 7s no structure and panicked in defence.. Everything we havent been in the last 4 rounds

The rebels had me worried in the first 20minutes...

    Great win for the team!

I was impressed with the turnout over 16,000 tonight and that was with afl next door at the mcg.

Your missing out on Gareth Delve. I think he has been the stand-out for the Rebels so far this season. He was popping up everywhere.

No worries there, they're alternating win loss even more regularly than the Blues, so it's a pretty good indication.

yeah fair enough.. i was on the train home when i wrote that so I missed a couple for abbreviations sake. Thought Cipriani had a solid game.. bit untidy with the goalkicking but tactical play was great.

It was pretty incredible to see. For 20 minutes it seemed like every time the Hurricanes went wide they would score and for the next 60 they couldn't string 2 phases together without screwing up somehow.

At the 20 minute mark I was tempted to post in the 'who will put 50 on the rebels' thread.

Yeah, crikey, I got the margin right, but the winner wrong!

Regardless of the result against the Stormers later today, we will have to be on our game against the Rebels. No team can be underestimated in this comp. Woody does his homework on all our opponents in depth, and he'll have to against Melbourne.

It looks like Cipriani kicks a lot, so we will have to look at how we counterattack effectively - kicking or running it back. Positional play of our back 3 will be crucial.

Their forwards, and esp their loose trio, played really well - will be a great contest at the breakdown. I was impressed with the way they offloaded to maintain continuity - we will have to make our tackles count to minimise offloads.

They deliberately played Stirlo at 12 to counter Nonu - it worked I think - but he's likely to be back at 13 next week, up against Cullet.

We may have the edge in the setpiece, esp at lineout time, and our back three are, I think, better. But interesting matchups all over the park....
