Rugby World Cup 2011 TV coverage in the USA

    - NBC is one of the biggest free-to-air broadcasters in the USA...
    - NBC has the television rights to this year's Rugby World Cup (http://www.universalsports.com/news/...id=478244.html) but will only broadcast two matches, including the final, with the rest being shown on one of its digital sports channels...
    - NBC also has the rights to the NFL...
    - The NFL season is due to start in September...
    - The NFL has locked out its players due to a financial dispute and the season may not start on schedule...
    - The Rugby World Cup also starts in September...
    - NBC will need something to plug the gap...

Hey it's more likely they'll find something else but we can dream right

The IRB will have a voodoo doll of Roger Goodell for that very purpose...

Could prove to be a bonanza for Rugby if it worked out that way. Certainly could provide a platform.

Even if the NFL doesn't start on time, matches will generally be somewhere between midnight and sunrise in the US. Still be a winner if they show them on delay as a fill-in for NFL.
