The rugby union definition is past horizontal, once he's past horizontal, you HAVE to put him down gently.

I've seen better tackles penalized, mainly it's when the tackle's so hard at the hips that the tackled player's feet flick up above the head. That can sometimes look dangerous when it's perfectly legal. This one wasn't that, not sure if it's a red card and three weeks though.

If this is applied consistently, good luck to them, but I'd be surprised if a tah, sader or bull would get the same length of time for that tackle.

the article in the worst explained it well..poorly

it said something like: he was cited for a 'lifting' tackle which apparently has a higher grade of sanction rather than a 'dangerous' tackle. - i cant remember the sentence exactly

that somehow doesnt sound right.. surely the other way round?

Lifting tackles have been getting hammered pretty hard the last two seasons.

Lifting tackle is far worse you could snap someones neck doing it. The key word is horizontal. If you lift a player above horizontal it is your duty to make sure you put him down safely.

This is a bad example of how to do it.

surely by that token two of the sharks forwards should have been at least binned for doing that to their own players upon kickoff (I don't have video, but can clearly remember them)

Kankowski dropped Keegan Daniel. Was much worse than Inman's hit.

A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...

That's like dropping your team mate in the lineout. You get them back in other ways, deep heat in the jocks ect....

    Funny isn't it.

The SAFFAs cry blue murder when something happens to there players - the fake fall down from cummins tackle. and the tackle to the sharks winger landing on his shoulder.. if you dont like the contact P!SS off.

If anyone can tell me otherwise the cummins tackle was fine, and the rory tackle was an accident waiting to happen, I'll buy you a drink on saturday when we touch up the blues.

(Back on the subject) when it happens to someone else by there mister meaners (i.e. Pocock, i can continue) it likes "it wasn't me sir" or "it happened in due course and was brought on themself".

When the judicary and there is two teams playing on the field at once from a refs view, it may become a little easier to bottle up a lost, but the way i am feeling just puts the icing on the cake.. Individuals from South Africa can get knicked !!

Take on Nonu or Soialia with that tackle and with there temper, you'll go down quicker than a $2 hooker. just ole Bam Bam is a little quieter and gentleman.

anyway i've had i rant.. lets get on with our first "W" of the year.

I'd praise you twice if I could.

The same people who said Bakkies Botha was punished too harshly for his headbutt on Jimmy Cowan are saying that Sidey should've got 6 weeks.
