Sorry we deserted ya, Burgs. TV took priority. One flaw in JOC all afternoon- the hospital pass to Inman at the death. The final penalty might have been a blessing - insured us a bonus point. Poor captaincy from Kev not to try to deny us. hope he lives regrets it in the final wash-up.

David Smith had some great touches and OConnor had a solid game with some moments of brilliance.. the tear away try and that lovely inside pass to Sheps...

Pretty good effort, everyone did their job. Next week we probably need to put David Smith into a little more space if we want to play more attacking. The centres always seem to be running outwards, cutting off the wingers time/space.

But anyway, Reds have a better squad and the Force almost outplayed them today. The big + from today was the scrum holding up, the coaches will be pleased.

Agree. That penalty for pulling the man down was just stupid. Cost us a try and the game.

Scrum went really well but in reality was better in the first half when the starting front row were on. I thought subs were sent on according to a plan rather than according to the run of play. Maybe some substitutions could have been delayed.

Really we lost the game because we couldn't convert when in the red zone - held up, then that stupid short arm penalty when Pek failed to "touch", and at least another 2 occasions. And why, when quick ball was working so well for us, did we attempt to maul it from 25 m out?!

All in all a good start though, in a game we should have won. Great tactics from Woody, great intensity and decision making at the breakdown esp by the backrow, super defence, solid lineout and scrum.

Let's hope this doesn't cost us like other narrow losses in previous seasons.
