Chiefs coach Ian Foster reckoned he now had more selection headaches before next weekend's Super Rugby opener after a 12-12 draw with the Blues at Pukekohe last night.

But he stressed they were problems of the good type.

"Tonight probably created a few problems, but good problems – there were a couple of good problems, for sure." The Chiefs led 12-5 into the last quarter but with a number of their big guns then coming off they found themselves in defensive mode as big No8 Mat Luamanu scored the try and Lachie Munro converted to snatch a draw.

The Chiefs dominated large chunks of the match and were disappointed not to score in the first half.

"If that was a competition game you wouldn't want it to be nil-all at halftime on the scoreboard with the opportunities that we did create," he said.

"We certainly created a bit in the first half, we defended well for large parts of the game, apart from a few flat spells, but overall I was pretty happy.
