Suncorp Stadium Ready for the Force

The countdown is on to the first explosive round of 2011 Super Rugby in Queensland with confirmation Suncorp Stadium will be ready for the Western Force on February 20.

The Stadium was damaged in the devastating floods leading to some events being moved to other venues but a recent inspection confirmed all will be ready for the Western Force clash with the Reds.

The announcement was made by Sport Minister Phil Reeves. “This is the news sports fans have been waiting to hear,” Mr Reeves said.

The game is set to be charged with emotion as the Reds use the match to raise funds for the flood affected rugby clubs across the State. St.George Bank will be donating “cash for points” for every point the Reds score on the day and KooGa has donated a special set of one-off jerseys which the team will wear and then auction off.

“It is great to see our key partners getting behind our community clubs and helping them to recover from one of the most devastating natural disasters in Queensland’s history,” said Queensland Rugby CEO Jim Carmichael.

The game will also be “Kids Free” which will see a free child ticket with the purchase of an adult ticket.

If they had "cash for points" the score, the happy dragon may not be so happy

Does anybody know how important it is for the Force to win this one ??

It is said that Financially it could mean and instant $100,000 into the Force coffers if the Force win, which is money desperately needed. It will push the membership numbers and help with securing deals with possible sponsors.

    Sharpe is out.
Whats happening with Hocking? Whats the story regarding his injury?
And what is happening to Shep?

Either way, lets roll those c**ts!

Sheep appears to be lingo up in the trial Thursday. I guess he'll be available to play and the decisions will depend on how effective he is.

We nned his boot at fullback, that means we can put smith and mafi on the pitch and rabbit at 12 cullet would make an ideal benchwarmer in that back line.

Great to have the best Stadium in Queensland back on it's feet in time for the season ahead.
