Good comment and one with which I entirely agree. The thrower would be better coming from a front rower, but if there is a better one who can give the correct ball to the jumpers, then choose him, choose the best one. Forget being blinkered by convention. Get on with it.How important is it to have the Hooker throwing the lineouts?
Is it purely a psychological thing to persist with a dodgy #2 or should Coaches be more prepared to identify the best short player who can throw straight in the Squad, even if it is a Prop, the Openside or the Scrumhalf?
