Harlequins have lured Great Britain Rugby League and Samoan Rugby Union international Maurie Fa'asavalu back to the fifteen man game.

The 30-year-old has joined from Super League club St Helens and will arrive at Twickenham Stoop in October after recovering from shoulder surgery.

A strong ball-carrier, Fa'asavalu's form in Samoa's back row during the 2003 World Cup alerted league clubs and Saints swooped that same year.

Converting to prop forward, he qualified for Great Britain on residency grounds and was also capped by England.
