Happy for a fellow sandgroper but he is hardly an improvement for mine.
One less for Woosha to be looking over his shoulder at but puts him next in the firing line.

I have heard rumours here that Laidley will only be the caretaker coach for the rest of the season. He is not going to stay at Port, as his family currently live in Melb, but wants them to live in WA.

So it's just a matter of timing on the announcement of Laidley as the new Worst coast coach.

Shame I had $20 on Worsfold to be the first to go (still have another $20 on him being sacked at any time this season mind you)

I wonder if a payout is involved given that Port Adelaide are going to or have lost$4.5 million this year. Who needs to worry about GWS and the Gold Coast being massive financial black holes when clubs in established AFL "heartland" areas are losing money like it's going out of fashion.

Just nosing around the internet I have just found they are being bailed out to the tune of $5 million by the AFL/SANFL

Flanked by SANFL boss Leigh Whicker, he announced the AFL would contribute $1 million and the SANFL $4 million to ensure the financially-stricken Power's viability.
