    YAY!!!!!

I'd love to see Spanner get the 12 where he's best, and find a lightning bolt of a winger. Rabbit is maturing into 15 well and with some more speed outside him, and Spanner and Mitch trucking the ball up on the insides the backline will be pretty potent. We'll also have Cummo and Shep for the wings....there's plenty of power there.

It would also be a hugely versatile startign backline with lots of options ie.
    Shep wing or Fullback
    Spanner 11 - 14
    Rabbit 12 or 15
Mitch could probably play as a big winger

who needs a utility on the bench.......go for the speed! and possibly throw some academy or rookie blood in there in the hope of unearthing something amazing.

and you can add Fairbanks into that mix - although Ebersohn has EWF as his third preference - he is also talking to the Sharks

Signing Spanner makes Shep not as much of a need. Don't get me wrong, Shep's awesome, but he does get injured a lot and Rabbit is covering 15 quite well ATM. I wouldn't blame either him or the Force if they didn't come to an agreement and certainly wish him well if he moves on. I've always had a lot of time for Shep, he's a true gentleman, and when he's fit is one of the best outside backs in Australia. That opinon won't change if he's forced to move on.
