    nice!

I like for once that people will actually settle on a difference...

my thoughts is that browny didnt inject himself into the game enough. it seems in tests the breakdown is not policed any where near as heavily as S14, sorry super rugby, (can we shorting it to SR?? nice, thankyou). so having three scavengers isn't the ideal situation, however palu is NOT the answer, even with him coming 4/5 on the awards count.

I dont think Elsom is up to his best at the moment... seems to be missing a bit of spark he had prior to europe... It looked like he was having quite a few words with giteau in the ireland test, dont think i ever saw sharpey talking like that or any other skipper... would have loved to see what was being said, but it looked a bit friction-like.

would love to see the WF back row in there all together from the start and im a bit annoyed that deans didnt at least try to change it up a bit considering these were our 'practice' tests.

I really dont think we have the 'barnstorming' 8 in the country at the moment, though browny is no baby at 110 kegs or so.

    What would i have??

    i think i would have
    • i would give elsom a reset and see what happens
    • i would make sharpey captain, elsom vice
    • i would drop gits to the bench and bring on barnes
    • i would get hynes on the field, then we would have some great pace, should see him returning the ball from the fullback area, magic
    • i would sign sheps, digby and a fricken wicked 5/8ths to the force

home brew wiskey really makes you type!

    back to the back row:
    - hodgo, brown, pocock
    second row
    - you know what, i dont know who, but one big (sharpey-esque) and one smaller, but both genuine jumpers.

    im out!

    Palitu

PS: oh and teach pocock to jump, dont think i have ever seen him in the air...

    I'm cool with that!

(BTW I think a big ball carrier can also work in the #8, I just don't think we have one in Australia ATM.)

HAVE YOU SEEN THE SIZE OF THAT BOY?

    Who'd lift him?

And secondly, he's well too short to do anything even if they could get him off the ground.

He's a fantastic option for the long ball thrown over the top though.

pocock isnt too heavy, though height would be the issue... they lift many heavier blokes...

Intersting that Brownie was actually seeing a lot of the lineout ball in the last couple of Tests.

Assuming fitness for all, which I know counts Higginbotham and Horwill out at the moment, I would be looking to next year with:

    4. Horwill
    5. Sharpe (C)
    6. Brown
    7. Pocock
    8. Higginbotham
    18. Elsom
    19. Hodgson/McCalman

I seriously think that Elsom has played his best Rugby and certainly shouldn't have the big C of immunity. Sharpe has proven himself a leader of men at both levels and stepped up during the Bundy Series when Elsom was MIA as a leader.

I think they should drop the burden of captain before dropping elsom out of the 15 completely. He never inspired me as a leader and recall times when waugh and whittiker going down at the tahs and how he pushed captaincy away and as such Lyons picked it up.
Elsom is much like george smith imo. happy to just do his thing for the team.
