    Leinster v Edinburgh (Sun)

    MAGNERS LEAGUE
Venue: RDS, Dublin Date: Sunday, 9 May Kick-off: 1815 BST

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Berne will continue at fly-half for Leinster
Shaun Berne continues at fly-half ahead of Jonathan Sexton as leaders Leinster entertain an Edinburgh side with outside hopes of a play-off place.

Sexton is still recovering from a broken jaw, but Dominis Ryan replaces injured flanker Shane Jennings.

Scotland forward Ally Hogg returns to the Edinburgh starting line-up for the first time since December.

Kyle Traynor returns at prop, Jim Thompson at full-back and Steven Turnbull at lock.

Ben Cairns reverts to his regular role at outside centre.

Leinster are three points ahead of Ospreys and four clear of Glasgow Warriors as they look to secure a home tie in the Magners League play-offs.

Edinburgh, who are outside the top four, must beat the Irish side by a large enough margin to win a bonus point and hope that results go their way elsewhere in order to qualify.

When we play to the best of our ability, we can beat the best teams in Europe

    Edinburgh head coach Rob Moffat
Cardiff must then beat Munster without the Welsh side gaining a bonus point and without the Irish outfit claiming a bonus point and improving their points differential in comparison to the Scots.

Announcing the changes to the side that lost at home to Ulster last month, Edinburgh head coach Rob Moffat said he believes his side can at least achieve the desired victory.

"We know what we have to do this weekend and the teams who finish in the top four and qualify for the play-offs are those who deserve to on their form over the whole season," he said.

"We know we are capable of getting five points from the game in Dublin and that is not said with any disrespect to Leinster, who are among the best teams in Europe and who will be hurting at their Heineken Cup defeat last weekend.

"It's said from the fact that, when we play to the best of our ability, we can beat the best teams in Europe - just as we have against Stade Francais, the Ospreys, Bath and Munster this season."

Hogg has been out of the startling line-up since December
Moffat was particularly delighted to welcome back Hogg, the 48-times capped back-row forward who has been sidelined through injury since last year.

"I'm pleased that Hoggy has recovered from his hip surgery and has got some match fitness back through playing for Watsonians in the last few weeks," he said.

Leinster had hopes to add Sexton to the side that lost their Heineken Cup semi-final to Toulouse.

Sexton was named in the extended squad on Wednesday, but he is still recovering from a broken jaw and is left out of the match-day panel.

Ryan's inclusion is the only change to the starting line-up, while the bench includes Girvan Dempsey, who will retire at the end of this season.

Leo Cullen captains the side and Sean O'Brien has been named on an extended replacements bench that will be reduced closer to kick off.

Bernard Jackman was not considered for selection because of a knee injury and the hooker is rated extremely doubtful for Leinster's Magners League run-in.
