Southern Districts have shot to the top of the 2010 Shute Shield standings as the only undefeated team after the completion of round four.
They sit ahead of Manly, who handed Norths their first defeat of the season in the ABC TV Game of the Day, while Eastern Suburbs also suffered their first loss in surrendering the Sir Roden Cutler Shield to Eastwood. After passing through the hands of Sydney University, Randwick and Easts in the opening rounds of the competition, Eastwood will defend the Shield at T.G. Millner Field in two weeks time against Manly.

Northern Suburbs v Manly at North Sydney Oval
Manly have delivered Northern Suburbs their first loss for 2010 with a comprehensive 46-14 victory over the Shoremen at North Sydney Oval in the ABC TV Game of the Day.
The Marlins scored six tries to one, with wingers Nemani Nadolo and Lui Siale each bagging a double for the visitors.
The win lifts Manly to second place on the Shute Shield ladder, while the red and blacks remain just inside the top six despite going down.

Eastern Suburbs v Eastwood at Woollahra Oval
The Sir Roden Cutler Shield may not be registering for Frequent Flyer miles just yet, but it will need to cross the most famous harbour in the world after Eastwood registered a 29-20 victory over Eastern Suburbs at Woollahra Oval.
The Beasts scored three tries to two in their Shield defence, however the visitors kept their victory hopes alive via the boot of James Foote who contributed 16 points with the boot, while former Western Force half James Stannard piloted an important drop goal in his first start at fullback.
It was Easts first loss for the season which sees them drop from first to third, while the Woods have entrenched themselves in the top six, more than a bonus point win away from seventh.

Southern Districts v Penrith at Forshaw Rugby Park
Southern Districts have continued their strong start to season 2010 with an emphatic second half performance to defeat Penrith 40-13 at Forshaw Rugby Park.
Leading by just one point at the break against an Emus outfit committed to the cause, the Rebels powered home in the second half to register their third bonus point win for the season and propel them to a four point lead at the top of the table.
Western Force rookie Stefano Hunt scored one of the Rebels six tries, with ex-Waratah Nathan Sievert continuing his strong form with the boot with five conversions.

Warringah v Sydney University at Pittwater Rugby Park
In an important match for both teams, Warringah have upset Sydney University 13-10 at Pittwater Rugby Park.
Both teams scored one try apiece in the low-scoring encounter, however the successful kicking of Will Sare and Brock McGarity edged the Rats to victory.
The win saw Warringah leapfrog the Students into eighth place, while the five-time defending champions lay in ninth after four rounds, only sitting ahead of Penrith, West Harbour and Parramatta.

West Harbour v Gordon at Concord Oval
Gordon registered its first win of the season while West Harbour slumped to its fourth straight loss with the Highlanders prevailing 33-25 at Concord Oval.
Each side scored three tries apiece, however Dave Harvey’s contribution of 23 points from a try, four penalty goals and three conversions proved the difference.
The result lifts Gordon to within three points of the top six, while the Pirates are languishing in eleventh place, just one point ahead of Parramatta at the bottom of the Shute Shield ladder.

Parramatta v Randwick at Granville Park
Randwick have recorded their third victory of 2010 in a convincing 59-0 win over Parramatta at Granville Park.
The Two Blues went within moments of victory at Penrith last weekend, but were outclassed by a Randwick outfit keen to hit back after surrendering the Sir Roden Cutler Shield to Easts seven days ago.
Neil Meyer and Gene Fairbanks each scored hat-tricks for the Galloping Greens, while Australian Sevens rep Clinton Sills scored one of Randwick’s nine tries in his first top grade start after moving from Sydney University in the off-season.
