The State 15’s squad has been selected and will represent Western Australia when they tour in Sydney to compete in the NSW Regional Championships in early July.

The junior rugby stocks in WA are blossoming and following a second place finish at last year’s U15’s tournament the boys from the west are determined to go one better this time around and secure the silverware.

RugbyWA Junior Elite Coach Dwayne Nestor is confident WA can have another successful tournament and believes the outstanding performances from last season can act as a spur for the 2010 squad.

“Last year’s State 15s came runners up in this tournament and earnt a lot of respect for their well structured and skilful play as well as their demeanour off the field,” Nestor said.

“There are definitely some potential stars of the future here and it’s a great opportunity for the boys to test their skills against teams they will be playing against in next year’s 16’s Nationals comp”

WA will play teams from each of NSW’s rugby zones, Western, Eastern and Southern, plus two NSW Country teams and one from the ACT.

Each team will play five games and the best placed will then contest the finals.
