At the risk of stoking a fire I think you'll find just about everyone on here wants to see a third-tier comp of some sort but these threads always seem degenerate into these huge blazing (and annoying) arguments about what form it should take. Sooo... with a little bit of dread about what I'll return to, I leave my computer for a few hours...

I think that one valid observation was made - that Qld and NSW spend a truckload on developing the youngies and that this makes the going tough, financially. The Reds are a current case in point.

The article displays a complete lack of vision for the game. If you want to be a national sport and widen the talent pool available to you, you're going to need to expand past Qld & NSW.
