SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
for Damaging Winds, Large Hail and Flash Flooding
For people in the Central West district, the Lower West district, western parts
of the Central Wheat Belt, western Great Southern and southwestern parts of the
Gascoyne.

Issued at 1:00 pm on Monday 22 March 2010

People are advised that there is a risk of severe thunderstorms during Monday
afternoon and evening. Storms may be accompanied by strong winds, large hail and
possible flash flooding that could result in damage to property.

The FESA - State Emergency Service advises that people should be aware of
thunderstorms. As storms approach secure loose items and move vehicles under
cover. If lightning accompanies the storm disconnect non-essential electrical
appliances and avoid using the phone. Stay indoors until the storms have passed.


If you are caught outside seek shelter away from trees and metal structures.
Driving conditions will be hazardous. Should flash flooding occur, avoid
affected roads, watercourses and floodways in the vicinity until safe to
proceed.

Not much going here atm in Maylands. Is very dark outside and we just had some rain and thunder, but not a great deal. yet.

This is nothing compared to Melbourne storm! Hailstones are tiny here
Then again, it's nicer being in the office instead of in the middle of it like I was in Melbourne!

On 18th Floor of 191 St Georges Tce we are in the Clouds..power surges, leaking rooves, hubby just got caught in hail storm with hail as big as golf balls..more worried about the paintwork of BMW than anything,,must be good not a mark..lifts had a failure...All Good....Convention Centre Car Park had surge of water ...eek:
