Brumbies hope Matt Giteau can guide them to big win over Lions

When Matt Giteau last played a Super 14 game in Canberra, he spearheaded Western Force to an upset win against the Brumbies.

    That was a year ago.

The Brumbies will now be looking for another brilliant performance when Giteau makes his much-awaited return to Canberra Stadium against the Lions.

After missing the season-opener against the Force in Perth with a quadriceps injury, Giteau regained fitness and form during the Brumbies' tour of South Africa, which yielded a loss to the Bulls and a win against the Stormers.

If Giteau can reproduce his best form against the Lions, he will help the Brumbies beat a danger team.

"Matt was tremendous that night (for the Force) and he has been good for us to date, too," Brumbies coach Andy Friend said.......

Pretty sure we were at this game and the reason the Force triumphed was because of Shep's tries. Giteau's kicking was woeful that night, so not quite sure how he "spearheaded" the win!

upset win? I wasn't upset at all. I was pretty bloody stoked!

and yes Sheps had more to do with it than Gits.

Really? He's already played two matches in 2010 Brumbies gear. Thought you would have seen the matches. ............hang on you don't mean you personally have waited to actually see him? To actually be at the stadium?

Just in case here's the directions. In case you have forgotten the way.

With Gits as their spearhead they'll fall over the line at the death.

Bonus point for the Lions this week

Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.

Are you mad? Are you madder than Ian Mad of Madtown in Mad Castle? Are you?

There is no chance the Lions could possibly win away. They struggle enough to win at home.

The only thing he spearheaded tonight was his botched Rugby League kick across field at the death. A bit of patience would have secured a BP. Looks a lot like he has not recovered fully from the quad strain.
