    Force Injury Update

The Force will be without winger Cameron Shepherd for approximately six weeks after scans confirmed a severe thigh strain sustained while kicking in the warm-up to the club’s opening round match against the Brumbies last Friday.

Shepherd will start his rehabilitation program immediately and will not require surgery.

Club medical staff are still considering their options in relation to a shoulder injury to Number 8 Richard Brown.

Fly-half Mark Bartholomeusz is making steady progress from a nerve irritation in his neck which kept him out of round one and is expected to return to action for the club’s next home game against the Chiefs on February 27.

I wonder if the new marquee could be an international winger with some real afterburners?

Spanner, Jimmy and a marquee like that could go a long way to restoring the balance

Injury jinx continues for Force stars

The injury jinx continues for Western Force stars as Richard Brown's season hangs in the balance with a shoulder dislocation and Wallaby Cameron Shepherd will miss out on at six weeks of the Super 14 season with a thigh strain.

The Force confirmed today Shepherd faced at least four weeks on the sidelines with what was being described as a serious thigh strain.

It was another serious blow to the backline which was already without Andre Pretorius and Mark Bartholomeusz.

Meanwhile, Brown was "considering his options" after briefly dislocating his shoulder in the loss to the Brumbies on Friday night.

With a possible shoulder reconstruction likely to rule out the popular backrower for the Super 14 season, the Force said Brown was assessing his options – but would most likely miss several weeks of action.

Bartholomeusz, who was forced to pull out his prospective debut with irritation to nerves in his neck, will miss the trip to Wellington this week, but was penciled in to make a return against Queensland in a fortnight.

Haig Sare and Matt Dunning should both be fit to take on the Hurricanes on Saturday.

So are you saying he'll be played (taped) or he'll be out for 4-6 weeks

So Bart will be ok in a couple of weeks
Cam's injury is not season ending
Brownie sounds like he needs a reconstruction - (didn't he have a couple of pops last year as well) not brilliant but managable - he's young yet he'll be back

we got off lighter than we thought
