booing a kicker - pfft.. be original, laugh at him. You'll never get silence in an Australian stadium... *maybe* if the ground announcer requested it, but I can;t see that happening either.

To be fair, I don't think the booing started on Friday until after Mortlock made his 1000th point ...

The ground annoucers should ask the crowd to keep quiet like they do in England. Then again, I think that the AFL mentality of booing and making noise when kicking for goal has moved over to rugby.
It's a shame when people boo, but you should see the looks or comments I get when I applaud the other team scoring! It's only a little golf clap guys - I'm just being polite!

I also did enjoy the Pat McCabe heckler near our seats the other night.

Didn't know that Exile! I knew he had an unfinished book -didn't know someone else was finishing it! Not Dirk Gently is it?

The unfinished Douglas Adams book is 'The Salmon of Doubt'. It was found on his hard-drive after he died and was published as a book along with lots of other stuff he left behind (letters, speeches, etc). Salmon was a Gently book but Douglas was on record that he didn't think it was working and was thinking about taking Gently out.

The recently published sixth book is 'And Another Thing' by Eoin Colfer. I've not read it yet, but it seems to be someone's attempt to write in Adams' style and using the HHGTTG characters.

Anyway, back to the rugby...

I think booing kickers often have the reverse effect, as kickers often focus even harder to make their kicks. Complete silence would be more nerve racking.

Positives I feel are:

The emergence of Dane Haylett-Petty as an outside back. He looked good.

JOC truely looks world class now and I would not be nervous about him starting at 10.

The whole forward line looked pretty good. We won the battle at the breakdown and I thought we looked pretty good at scrum time as well.

MES - it leaves Subi for dead! And the feel of a full house all dressed in blue (everyone was too). The booing was crap mind.

It could have been a cricket score but for our forwards at least matching the Brumbies pack and some heroic defending.

I'd add: Crossy and Sare both playing well despite injuries and lack of fitness.

He was pretty much level with me when lining it up!
