I have just driven from Geraldton to Perth and listened to 828, 531 and 720 on my way. I listened to the hourly new bulletins from 1pm to 5pm eagerly awaiting to hear the Western Force team who were to be named today to take on the ACT Brumbies in the Super 14 starting in Perth this Friday night.

Instead I hear about some AFL waffle that starts in 2 weeks time and other sports news. There was a report about how the NSW Waratahs had named 6 new players for their debut against the Queensland Reds then.....nothing.

Is your newsroom aware that Western Australia has a team in the hardest provincial football competition in the World???

Are they aware that the said competition starts this Friday night at ME Bank Stadium (which you will insist on calling Perth Oval even though is is now rectangular).

Is your newsroom so myopic that they fail to acknowledge any other sport in Perth besides aussie rules?

Will you being giving more balance sports news in the future?

The "Perth Oval" bit will be to do with the no advertising policy I'd imagine.
Seem to recall they had issues with the "Pura Cup" etc.

Totally agree though TG, the standard ABC Union coverage now days (when it actually happens) is for their sports reporters to admit they don't know much about Rugby, offer some populist one liners and then move on.
You would think after the Force being established for this long they may have found at least one sports reporter who knew something about the code.
