Daruda or Hilgendorf would do a 10x better job than Bartholomeuz. No one has seen them play for years so it is not really fair to say they are still not good enough. But from what i remember they had basic communication skills and could actually run a backline which is all you need with our good outside backs.

IMHO our most effective ever Force #10-#12 combination was #10 Jimmy & #12 Stanners.
Jimmy may not be performing in Japan, more the reason to come home, but he rarely if ever had a bad match at #10 for the Force.

Im pretty sure Jimmy was going for Japanese citizenship to be able to play for them in 2011 RWC.
How will him coming to play for the Force for 4 months affect that?

Much like those dinky di Italians Luke McClean and Craig Gower.
    Or that frenchman Pieter DeVilliers.

And Gavin DeBartolo has represented the USA now too I believe.

And let's not get started on the foundering nation of the sport...

Good to read in an article:

Pretorius said it was disappointing not to be able to play for the Force in Super 14 but he has committed to staying in Perth for the length of his contract

"I'm definitely going to stay here," he said. "I've been committed from the start to the Force and I'd like to end it like that.

"I'll probably get involved with some of the youngsters maybe with the academy.

I'll definitely be involved with strategy with the senior team.

"I'd like to stay involved for the time that I've been contracted."

I guess there are worse places to be paid to do rehab than Perth...like Joh'burg...

Have I missed posts or did somebody suggest Hilgy wasn't at least as good as Bart.

I've got huge wraps for Hilgendorf, he was always an exciting option for us, who was shafted when the match committee decided his hair wasn't right for a S14 #10.

Daruda, I'm not so sure about. I don't know why you have such man-love for him Jazza, don't you remember 2006? His trial form last year was OK, but he's Cliff Palu in real games

I have to agree with sleazy here I think Hilgy got a bad deal when poofer Gits arrived
we let him go and ended up with a shit stirrer I think hilgy got a raw deal he played great in the 1st season and was maturing so maybe we should learn from our mistake and think that spending heaps of money on players it not the answer and let this young crew mature.
If hilgy can come home i would think we would do ok but as i said run with our squad as it is for now
Bart and JOC will learn heaps this yr and we should do our bit a supportters and support them.

    Go the force

It's been suggested that Sam Norton-Knight is looking to get out of his contract overseas and return home. What are your thoughts if the Force where to look at him covering 10 for the season?

He is a linkman rather than a game breaker so would probably suit, though I would hope he had improved during his time in the North.
I imagine he would be square in the sights of Mcqueen.

Like the other guys have said- you could do a lot worse. I still remember his first Wallabies test though when, from 10, he almost single handedly lost to a 2nd string Welsh side and spent 80 minutes throwing end-over-end pineapples. Sounds like he hasn't been in swell form in Europe either. I wouldn't pull strings to get him and I'd certainly prefer Daruda but we could do worse.

He is a Larkham clone. He has blistering speed and a great kicking game. Nobody with his skill set will impress in the European mud, sleet and rain with a wet ball and a sodden pitch.

Every Aussie knows, once you've knobbed a girl from each home nation, it's time to head home. The weather is shite and the people are miserable

I think its a really good idea to bring Sam Norton Knight to the Force, apparently he wants to return to Australia. I think he would be an ideal 10 for the Force, he has a good kicking game, can control the game well, has played alot of rugby with Brett Sheehan and Sam Harris at the Central Coast Rays and the NSW Waratahs which means they already have an understand of how to play with each other.
If we are unable to get him I'm happy with who we have.
