Josh was ok. He seems like a bit of a mercenary (4 Super teams) but I am happier with Sheehan than Valentine so his departure to the Brumbies is fine. I'm glad we don't still have him it gives more of a chance to Turner and Swanepoel.

Certainly agree there James but "best thing" is kind of an overstatement or perhaps a personal issue.
There's been a few higher profile issues and player departures more worthy of that title I would have thought, but each to their own I guess...

At least Giteau had the courtesy of letting you guys know, so you could recruit a reasonable replacement.

    That's the difference.

    A low act.
    Digby Ioane anyone?
He even put a handshake to the deal.......

I don't know enough about the Digby situation, but there were, I understand, family issues involved. Barnes on the other hand ......

Anyway, I'm over it, bring on the action.

It smelt (at least from the one-eyed Force fan) as if the 'family issues' really involved the fact that he could get guaranteed game time at the (then) back-depleted Reds, rather than fighting with several established Wallabies for a start.

But that may have just bee our isolationist shoulder-chip talking!

dont kid yourself Gigs, the only reason Digby left QLD to start with is because Sailor at the time indicated he was going to stay with the Reds and hence they could not offer Digby a contract, as it turned out Sailor left and Digby had signed with WA so they were left with nothing.

However, once he HAD left Queensland...
Though, it is a bit different to what tic is claiming on "roots" grounds as I agree that Barnes was always one to play the "blood runs red" card.
The comparison would be if a Longbottom left the Force, not someone who was originally from interstate anyway.

Assuming of course that Longbottom had put himself in the media regularly saying Sandgroper to the bone type comments.....I get where you're coming from Burgs.

I wouldn't begrudge Kieran leaving if he's not being used at the Force, that's not where Berrick was at...they pretty much remodelled the team to keep him, similar, but more than what we did with JOC.....I'd be more angry if JOC had left than Kieran at this point.

^^^ Correct - and let's not forget that Barnes became a Wallaby whilst playing at the Reds - so they obviously served some purpose for him. Sad thing is that once that purpose was served he said F*#k Off - I might be back once you have all done the hard yards and the team is a true contender again.

    No thanks Berrick.

I just hope for the Wallabies' hopes that Berrick doesn't become the new Gits......but then it's obviously the best way to keep the Wallaby #10.....certainly performance has nothing to do with it!

Longbottom was used as the most advanced home born example but I think you got the point
