If an article in this mornings West is correct(99% of the time they are not)
Eventscorp,in their wisdom have knocked back an approach to sponsor a Bledisloe Cup match here in Perth. On what grounds is unknown, but is only one of many sporting events mooted, only to be rejected
Time to get some new blood into this organisation ffs![]()
hmmm nothing online i can find - disappointing news if it is true though...
Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.
The West usually takes a while to get it's news stories online. Might duck downstairs and pick up a copy when I get a spare minute
i even checked the media releases on the events corp website.... ?

Just read the article and here a few bits and pieces:
"West Australians should not have to pay to host boxing champion Danny Green's propsed fight with Bernard Hopkins, Premier Colin Barnett said yesterday amid revelations that the State's major event aganecy had knocked back a host of high-profile proposals for Perth."
and another bit from the middle of the article:
"The Premier's comments came amid calls for a radical revamp of Eventscorp after documents obtained by The West Australian showed a classic rematch between Tennis greats John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg, Rugby's jewel the Bledisloe Cup amd internationals featuring the Soccerroos were among the proposals rejected in the past year"
Now go and buy the paper if you want more(or wait until they put it up on their website later today)
I don't think Eventcorp would contribute to their own demise so to speak
The sum involved in getting the Danny Green v Roy Jones bout(which they passed and Sydney gladly accepted), was a paltry $50,000 according to informed sauces. How many times would the inbound tourism dollar have multiplied that 50 grand? Not to mention the exposure. Pathetic. They shoud all resign if that and the rest are true.
"The main difference between playing League and Union is that now I get my hangovers on Monday instead of Sunday - Tom David
