    Double the force

    24 Nov 09 @ 04:23pm by JASON AVEDISSIAN

Former Waratah Sam Harris has double motivation to succeed in Western Australia.

THE birth of twin daughters will provide Warringah back Sam Harris the motivation to rediscover his best form when he makes his debut for the Western Force in 2010.

Harris and his wife Hannah recently celebrated the births of twin babies, Scarlet Luella and Anais Rain.

The 29-year-old is currently in pre-season training with the Force ahead of next year’s Super 14.

Harris joined the Perth-based franchise on a one-year contract, confident he can replicate the form that established him in the Waratahs’ midfield.

And with two extra little ones to look after, Harris knows becoming a regular in John Mitchell’s squad will not only secure his playing future, but that of his young family.
“It does change my outlook on everything,” Harris said yesterday of his baby twins, born on September 22.

“Having the girls puts everything into perspective.

“I’ve got to look after them and the whole family.
“It’s not all fun and games now and I’ve got a far more professional outlook on my football.”

Which translates to trying to force his way into Mitchell’s 22-man squad on a weekly basis.

“Hopefully I can go one better and be a consistent starter in the team, and hopefully in a successful team,” Harris said.

“I’ll be aiming for that number 12 position (inside centre).

“I’m feeling the best I’ve ever felt and really excited about next season.”

Harris, along with another Force recruit, Brett Sheehan, will be available to play for the Rats in the Shute Shield following next year’s Super 14.

....like having twins is such a difficult thing to do, sheesh!

    That's easy - doesn't everyone have twins?

Oh, no, probably just me and the Harrises then.

(Only mine have much more conventional names)
