I can't believe anyone is even giving Gray any air time. The VRU is now irrelevant, so any opinions they might have about any player are meaningless noise. Even more so the concept of poaching established AFL players, which is patently ridiculous - kids sure, but that would hardly make headlines and it would be three years before they might be seen.
For mine the Vic team should be targetting both Elsom and Barnes. The first thing they have to establish is credibility, and having the Wallaby leadership on the field would very much make them relevant.
On Melbourne radio on Friday morning, one radio station posed the question of which gayfl players could make the transistion to Rugby. There was only one suggestion - Luke Hodge as a flyhalf.

Melbourne are in exactly the same boat we were in late 2004/early 2005. I have no problem with them chasing a key marquee signing and if Jonny was to become a gringo, good luck to them.
Lloyd Johannson is apparently a player who could return home to play for Melbourne, i believe he is a Melbourne boy to start with so that could be good.
