I suppose it's possible due to the number of spectators you get to soccer matches, but I'd have thought most of the income came from TV and the Olympics usually co-incide with the start of the soccer season in Europe, so I'd be surprised if there was that level of interest. Still - it does you good to be surprised occasionally.
You're right, my mistake, that'd refer to ticket sales not profits. But still - 1.9 million people had attended the Beijing Olympics soccer tournament by the semi final mark. Bear in mind that they sold 6.8 million tickets for the games in total and you'll see what i'm talking about.
