He might be in bad form for the wallabies but when you go from running into Bakkies Botha, to running into first grade wingers it would be a hell of a lot easier and he will make a huge difference if he doesn't much around.

It is a must win semi so he shouldn't play unless it is against Paly or Neddies.

So'oialo isn't playing this weekend - maybe Wanneroo can fly him over for a game?

All respect and kudos to Brown for wanting to play in Perth - it says a lot about the guy and I doubt he is personally out to cheat anyone, but he shouldn't be playing in the finals based on his season with Cott this year.

People will complain because he hasn't qualified simple as that, hasn't even played for them this year. Finals is not the time to be getting some Force "ring in's" who have not played all year

I don't see how this is fair, one for the poor bastard who will miss out and two for the opposition who will play them.
I'm not saying go chase him just so that both teams can have a Force player, but if they are given the same opportunity and chose not to take it then that's hardly the fault of Cottesloe and while there is a disadvantage, again its not Cott's fault for Wanneroo not taking up the offer.
I'm not saying that is what happened but if it is then you can't really blame Cott for giving their team the best chance possible, despite the disadvantage to Wanneroo.

Obviously it sucks for the individual, but like everyone always says rugby is a team sport and no one player is bigger than the game. Also, people have been saying that our comp is not to the same standard as Shute Shield and players are never showing loyalty to their clubs here..now Brown is coming back (probably not because of team loyalty [seeings as though he hasn't played for them this season] but then again he might be coming back for loyalty or the fact he's being paid to since he missed out on Wallabies selection) and not only will it be in Cott's favour but Wanneroo are getting the chance to play against a top level player and we finally get to watch one of our boys playing in our state! Add to that the experience Wanneroo's players will get from playing against a world class number 8.

He hasn't qualified though. Giving Cottesloe their best chance to win I would have though would have been to pick the player who has played there all year.

    Your missing the main point

I'm not missing the point. I understand he has not qualified and has not played any other games for Cottesloe this season therefore is ineligible to play for them. I'm saying if Waneroo were given the same option to include an unqualified Force/Wallaby player and didn't take it up then it is not the fault of Cottesloe and they shouldn't have to give Brownie the boot.

Brown shouldnt be given the boot, as he should not be selected in the first place

But it is setting a precedent for the future.
What next. Bring in a whole team just before finals because the precedent has been set?

    What a catch 22!

    If he's inelligible, problem solved.

If the rules say he is elligible then what should Cott do?

"What's that Browny, your available to play this weekend? Sh^t, its a final! Any other time would be fine. Sorry, thanks but no thanks..... "

    Nothing on the website http://www.cottesloe.rugbynet.com.au/

If you want to be fair dinkum bout this issue, email the boys at 6PR at sport@6pr.com.au and demand someone from RWA goes on and talks about it...it will give the club game the PR it deserves!

I can't believe this thread has had this much response - it can not possibly happen!! If it did RugbyWA would be in a bit of trouble, and would face a bit of retaliation from all the other clubs... I doubt Richard Brown is even in the state at the moment!
