Injury concerns for key players have caused Wallabies coach Robbie Deans to delay naming his team for Saturday's Tri Nations clash with South Africa in Perth.
Deans was scheduled to name the team on Tuesday but has pushed that back to Thursday.
Flanker Rocky Elsom (ankle) and lock Nathan Sharpe (shoulder) are in big doubt for the match, while backs Berrick Barnes (concussion/neck) and James O'Connor (cork) will also be assessed later in the week.

Anyone else notice that its usually about half time that Berrick Barnes comes off and thats usually about the time the Wallabies start going down hill into the second half (the half that matters more). But Berry on the bench and he can win us the game for a change.

If he's on the bench we'll be 50 behind by halftime!

I don't know. Teams don't really chance their arm much during the first 20 odd minutes and are still energised enough to shut down a lot of raids that would be more successful in the second half when everyone is tired. You make mistakes under pressure and fatigue is a significant part of that pressure. Its usually the 50-70 minute time block where the Wallabies fail to function so bring in someone for that time.

JOC to 12 and AAC back to 15 with Crossy at 13 for mine. I reckon the way to beat the Boks is to score tries through their midfield. AAC's solidity at the back would be good with all the kicking they'll do, but I reckon JOC could tear them up in the midfield with ball in hand.

Deans keeps (kept) saying that he sees JOC as a full-back, regardless of where he plays for the Force.

Gits at 10, JOC at 12 and Crossy at 13 worked well for us (and won us the Australian Grand Slam), but I doubt we'll ever see that for the Wallabies; the Tah-sayers and Brumbyites have too much say in the selection.

I do not believe Deans is influenced by anybody....he's very much a man who will live and die by his own decisions! If you think he came over here to be swayed by some old schoolboys or so called big boys of aussie rugby I think you are kidding yourself.

He's had JOC on the bench as the inside back reserve in the past, and I know he's trained there with the Wallabies, so don't see it as an absolute impossibility

According to ABC News last night both Elsom and JOC have till Thursday to prove fitness for the game - so I suspect that we need a plan B.
