ARU site also has Giteau as Brumbies, yet Mitchell still with Force and Barnes still with Reds.

It's no wonder everyone thinks their site and management is crap...don't even know what team their players play for.

They shouldn't let the work experience kid type out their team lists.

Springboks name unchanged team for Wallabies clash

CAPE TOWN, South Africa - South Africa has retained Morne Steyn in its starting team to play Australia on Saturday after the fly half scored a Tri-Nations record 31 points in the victory over New Zealand last week.

Steyn came in for the injured Ruan Pienaar against the All Blacks, scoring a try and landing nine kicks out of 10 attempts in a 31-19 win to give the Springboks two wins from two home games against the Kiwis.

Pienaar was selected on the reserves bench on Tuesday, replacing backup centre Wynand Olivier in the only change to the team.

Steyn's retention and the selection of openside flanker Heinrich Brussow, who is deputizing for the suspended Schalk Burger, signals South Africa's intention to play for territory and put pressure the Australia's defence.

Brussow, who matched New Zealand openside flanker Richie McCaw in their two meetings, will be up against the highly regarded George Smith at the breakdown in the Newlands Test.

"Brussow is playing particularly well at the moment," Smith said. "He is getting turnovers all over the field at the moment and playing behind a very good pack."

In that Springboks pack, Victor Matfield and Bakkies Botha will play together as a lock pairing for the 50th time in a Test. Matfield will play in his 86th Test and Botha in his 60th.

Jean de Villiers, who played his 50th Test last week, will play at centre for the 40th time on Saturday, surpassing De Wet Barry's record for the most capped Springbok in that position.

South Africa (2-0) leads the standings with eight points, four more than New Zealand (1-2), which beat Australia 22-16 in the opening game. Australia (0-1) has one point.

    -

    South Africa

Francois Steyn, J.P. Pietersen, Jaque Fourie, Jean de Villiers, Bryan Habana, Morne Steyn, Fourie du Preez; Tendai Mtawarira, Bismarck du Plessis, John Smit (capt.), Victor Matfield, Bakkies Botha, Heinrich Brussow, Juan Smith, Pierre Spies.

    Replacements:
Chiliboy Ralepelle, Jannie du Plessis, Danie Rossouw, Andries Bekker, Ricky Januarie, Ruan Pienaar, Adrian Jacobs.

Palu better step up this week, it's no coincidence that the Wallabies lose when he doesn't play well.

It's always a risk taking him into the big games, and there's no longer the cover of Pocock and Waugh on the bench.

FFS. Drop Palu to the bench or out of the team altogether. Also, this should be Lukey last chance to show some consistency..can't keep talking about his performance week in week out and how he needs to be consistent and blah blah blah. Enough already. He's a good player but his inconsistency cannot and should not be tolerated. I should know.

Australia confident Berrick Barnes will play South Africa

From Darren Walton in Cape Town, South Africa
August 08, 2009 .The Wallabies are confident Berrick Barnes will be fit to tackle South Africa in Saturday's Tri Nations Test despite being injured in a collision with prop Al Baxter during Friday's captain's run at Newlands.

Barnes required treatment for a dead arm but Australia's medical staff say he is certain to play.

The Wallabies, already big underdogs to score their first win in Cape Town since 1992, could ill-afford to lose their classy inside centre, whose tactical kicking game looms as vital to Australia's chances of springing an upset.

Lock James Horwill was rested from the captain's run as he recovers from a virus which sidelined him from Wallabies training for two days running.

The Wallabies also insist he is in no doubt of missing the match.

Among the many challenges facing Robbie Deans' side is trying to counter in-form flanker Heinrich Brussow, who has been a key figure in South Africa's recent series win over the British and Irish Lions and the Boks' twin defeats of New Zealand.

"He's obviously a very good player," Deans said.

"Rugby's a game about instinct as much as anything and instinctively he's very good.

"He puts himself in good position; he's capable of doing that in the first instance, but he picks his moments pretty well.

"There's no doubt he's added a dimension to this (Springboks) side.

"They're already a pretty formidable outfit and he's added an element around the contact.

"They were always very aggressive. He adds a little bit of subtlety as well."

Wallabies fullback Adam Ashley-Cooper is also steeling himself for a tough day at the office.

"Approaching any Test match, you look at the (opposition's) 9-10 combination. South Africa have got du (Fourie) Preez and (Morne) Steyn there and they're great kickers of the ball," said Ashley-Cooper.

"Du Preez off the base with his box kicks and Morne all around the park kicks particularly well and tactically well.

"So I'll be tested there, every fullback is, and hopefully I'll execute on the day and just contribute as much as I can from the back."

Springboks lock Victor Matfield says the world champions are expecting the Wallabies to prove a more challenging prospect than the erratic All Blacks.

"I don't think the Aussies will make the same mistakes," Matfield said.

"They've got a great goalkicker in Matt Giteau but also, when they get into the right areas of the field, they like to build phases and they're really good at that as well.

"So we'll have to be ready for everything."
