Letter from RWA coming out re seating at MES

In a letter mailed out from RugbyWA late on the afternoon of 20 July 2009 to the Membership of the Western Force the members are advised of the following new information.

That the deal has been done and that the Western Force will call Members Equity Stadium (MES) home from the start of the 2010 Super 14 Season.

That their membership category they held for the 2009 Super 14 Season will transfer across to MES seating for the 2010.

Seat allocation will be on a seniority of when the current category of seating was first applied for by year, month and day.

For example a Gold Category seat Member at Subiaco from January 2006 – to current days will be first on the pecking order.

A Gold Category seat member at Subiaco from January 2006 to Silver Category member in 2009 will be a silver category member in 2010.

A Gold Category seat member at Subiaco from January 2006 then retired for the 2007 and came back as a non-seated member in 2009 – will be a non-seated member in 2010.

All in all 11081 members will be seated at MES for the first game of the 2010. Non-seated members who wish to upgrade to a seat will go on to a list based, again on seniority as a Non-Member.

I gave RugbyWA a ring the other day just to ask when Member renewals are comming out as I have to renew my Glory and WACA Membership ($250 and $300) as well, and was told that the renewals should be sent out in early September

Any idea of the capacity of the standing room end, Jargs? Looks as if that's where we'll end up for the time being if we're lucky and provided there is room for "country" members to upgrade to "standing". The total capacity is supposedly 18,156. Weren't there plans for a further 2000-odd temporary seats? Gotta admit I'm a bit unpleasantly surprised that only 11081 members will be seated. No pain, no gain,as they say.

Anyone got a figure for total 2009 membership?

I know this info is probably here somewhere already but I can't find it.

To be honest I'm not sure, but I could make a call or two later today and find out if you really want to know?

    I have some information.

10181 was the membership number that required seating for 2009

    expect standing room of 5000+

There will be a new category of membership for Standing room at MES. This will be offered to the "Supporters/Out of Towners Members.

There will be a number of tickets up for sale to the public for each game.

Wonder if they'll be from a "members not able to attend" buy-back scheme like was mentioned earlier.

    Letter from RugbyWA today.....

Supporter Members to renew as usual.

Following completion of seating and renewal of all 2009 seated members, Supporter members will be given opportunity to upgrade..........allocated strictly in order of original joining date.

Interesting. I am one of them there "Supporters/Out of Towners" 'cos my employed had a box at Subi. We shall not have a box at MES. I wonder if my memership will indeed get me in to standing room or I will have to pay some extra?

Letter we got stated that if you had a seat in 09 you will have a seat in 10, some tickets on sale to the public sounds fantastic.

The bit that confuses me is how will they divide up the seating would find it hard to believe that there are exactly X gold members and in ME there is exactly X gold seats. Obviously the whole thing is a bit of a nightmare logistically and we will just have to wait and see what we get offered when the packs come out.
