I believe that the Reds (and Qld sports teams in general) run more on passion and tradition than any other team in Australia so to bolster that aspect has to be a winner.

Its about time QLD did some of this, hopefully its enough to keep barnes in qld.

I dont personally think Banes will leave, i think he sees this as a opportunity for him to influence and shake up the Reds to get them on the right track.

Given that Timmy Horan is involved, maybe Lote has an escape hatch??

the ARU won't allow him to play for the 'Tahs, I can't see how that would change if he signed with the Reds

Will Lote be allowed by the IRB to play for Fiji next RWC?

Here you go Muddy, this is the ruling which has been around for the last 10years which prevents players from swithing between national teams.

    IRB Regulation 8.2
A Player who has played for the senior fifteen-a-side National
Representative Team or the next senior fifteen-a-side National
Representative Team or the senior National Representative Sevens Team
of a Union is not eligible to play for the senior fifteen-a-side National
Representative Team or the next senior fifteen-a-side National
Representative Team or the senior National Representative Sevens Team
    of another Union.

I wonder if that is a factor in why we don't have an Australia A
By that logic our Under 20's are the "next senior fifteen-a-side National
Representative Team" and, if so, all are now ineligible to play elsewhere, meanwhile those U20's from other nations are still approachable.

nah i dont think so, i think it needs to be recognised by the IRB, and needs to be made up of the next best available players...

So U20 teams dont work because its only available to those U20, likewise for the NZ Maori, even though in some years there has been no Junior All Blacks it hasnt been recognised because its only open to those kiwis with maori blood.
