BARBARIANS halfback Chris Whitaker will make an emotional farewell to rugby when he plays the final game of his career against the Wallabies on his old stamping ground at the SFS tomorrow night.

And one the great servants of Australian rugby admits he is feeling apprehensive about his showdown with current Wallabies and NSW halfback Luke Burgess.

"I'm a little bit scared about it. He's at the beginning of his career and I'm at the end," Whitaker said.

"I don't want to be embarrassed."

It will be the first time the pair have played each other but Whitaker has been impressed by his rival.

"He is a very athletic, big strong guy so he makes a lot of breaks," Whitaker said.
