I thought there was some merit in what Waugh said, or at least how I interpreted it - table should be decided by points, THEN WIN/LOSS, then score differential.

Maybe the table should be decided that way, but the rules for this year were known by everyone before the start of the season. To claim you should get into the finals by changing the rules is at best sour grapes and at worst gerrymandering!
