Rumours of the week
* A group of talented Sydney club players are seriously considering heading to the Western Force. That is certain to happen if someone with strong Waratahs player links, as expected, joins the Force's coaching staff.
* Sydney clubs are again restless about lack of media promotion, and now have their own man to spread the word.
Holmes coming
The Waratahs have secured halfback Josh Holmes, as R&M revealed last week. Intriguingly, the Brumbies tried to make it appear as if they did not want him. But it appears Holmes was the one they were keen to keep. After Holmes rejected a deal from the Brumbies, they chased him and offered a late, late deal, which he also rejected to go to NSW. They then offered Patrick Phibbs a one-year deal.
Tatts gold
David Campese was on fire at the Rugby Club this week. Campo was asked: "What is the greatest contribution rugby league has made to rugby in Australia?" His reply: "Tattoos!"
