online evaluations can be a good place to start.
i dont collect stamps, but i used some online evaluations, as well as from a few shops and individuals to give my Phantom comics a round figure. turns out they are worth something.
it helped to get a few quotes

yeah, they were crap ones.

the phantom has been going since 1936.
my earliest ones are from 1942

amazing how many repeats are in phantom comics, i had an imense collection of them most picked up in op-shops by my sister inlaw, i have scince pased them on to my nephews who still enjoy reading them.

Still got our old Phantom's tucked away somewhere, the earliest go back to around #40 I think. All pretty knocked around from reading on the verandah of a night and tucked under the corner of the mattress so it won't blow away though...
